On the flight from Urumqi to Chongqing we saw ranges of snow covered mountains.
As we approached the city we caught sight of a river - maybe the Yangtze?

Thirty-three million people, according to the local guide! Like the population of Canada in this one city.

We visited the Flying Tigers museum - a fascinating experience for those of us old enough to remember them from WWII.
While the guide described the museum, an artist created a painting, which seems to be a source of income to support the museum.

We visited the old market area, the only part of the city that was not destroyed in WWII.
The pastry from the sieve looked almost like plaster of paris.
The locals seem to like to be photographed with odd-looking tourists.

Traffic congestion in China makes Toronto look like a cake walk, but we
finally made it to our river cruise boat, the Gold 8, with appropriate greeting.
