In early 2017 we were looking for places to go that we have not already visited. One
thought was Scotland and its islands, but nothing available seemed to fit with our other
Then we received an email from TravelZoo advertising an Azamara Quest repositioning cruise from Miami to Barcelona with stops at Azores, Huelva Spain, Gibraltar, Tangier and Barcelona. The package, by Cruise Connections in Vancouver, included air fare, and the Azamara Club cruise fare includes beverages and gratuities. All this, and the cruise fitted between other plans, so we decided to give it a go.
Land excursions were not included, so we had a look at those offered by Azamara, and by a company called Shore Excursions, suggested by Cruise Connections. We finally opted for the Shore Excursions for Ponta Delgada (Azores) and Montserrat (Barcelona), because the Azamara excursions looked quite onerous for octogenarians like us. We opted to go walkabout on our own in Huelva, Gibraltar and Tangier.
